Today marks the 40th anniversary of the first mobile phone call! Martin Cooper, who is famously the “father” of mobile phones, said that he wanted to create “something that would represent an individual so you could assign a number not to a place, not to a desk, not to a home but to a person.”
At the time, the teams behind the mobile envisioned that one day we would be able to embed devices in your skin or hang them onto your ear. However, the phone has become much more than that and making phone calls is just one of the many things our phones are capable of.
The most important thing about our phones is the way they connect people. The easier the connections are to make, the quicker the growth of our hubs become.
