Partnership working is power

This blog is rather out of the ordinary for me as it isn’t a preaching piece about the magic of marketing, but current events, which has led me to type down my thoughts on partnership working.

Working within an industry driven by competition and practicing under the rule of the all seeing, all judging Google collaboration is now key. For some time there has been a lack of trust in the online marketing game with companies claiming SEO is smoke and mirrors and black magic ‘you just wouldn’t understand’ and online marketing is just for techies and creative minds.
This has led to some negative assumptions about the industry that I would love to eradicate as I whole heartedly believe in the work we do here. As with any successful business it isn’t about the good things we can do for clients but the great things we can do together. We have industry knowledge and the beautiful minds that can elevate a campaign from mediocre to something magnificent but who knows your business better than you? By working with clients, rather than just for clients we can elevate results and most importantly in business develop trusting, meaningful relationships.
Partnerships are one of the most powerful tools in business and it is often about give and take rather than profit. In a time when we all need a helping hand to be in a position of success we must utilise external skills and opportunities. For instance, marrying trusted brands with revolutionary products or services is no shotgun wedding but a match made in heaven that will no doubt live to see it’s ruby anniversary.
There is no strength in being blind to your weaknesses, closing yourself off to opportunities to work with other companies and across industries will stunt your business no end.  Admitting that someone else could have the answers to the questions you cannot answer will lead to a problem being resolved in good time.  So I say it’s time we stop licking our wounds from where we have been burnt in the past and start conversations that will lead to powerful partnerships.
