The rumours are true after all. Following all the various leaks and rumours coming from all the tech blogs you can find, Apple have finally announced their latest events where they will unveil the iPad mini. If you believe the rumours going around this week, there could be even more on show.
Since last year, Apple have dodged question after question about the impending release of a smaller iPad. Steve Jobs famously said that any tablet smaller than 10 inches wouldn’t be bought by the public.
It appears after the success of the Kindle Fire and Google’s Nexus 7 tablet that Apple understand that they are missing out on key sales. So many more people want a tablet but at an affordable cost.
There is no price confirmed, other than blurry pics that have been leaked from alleged retail stores in Germany and the USA. They point to a price point of around £229 (€249) which will then put it up against the Android 7″ tablets in time for Christmas.
Reaction is bound to be mixed from existing iPad owners with the leaked spec list not including a retina display or much-desired 3G and also not forgetting that they will be losing real estate on the screen.
