Have you ever noticed that when the weather suddenly changes you feel the need to go out and buy new clothes. For example, when it starts raining and gets very windy you jump online and buy a winter coat and when the sun begins to appear during the summer, you rush to buy shorts and t-shirts.
We know that most people love going shopping to treat themselves by buying something new. Sometimes people spend money they don’t have just so they can keep up with the trends circling the fashion world. Fashion is important to many people, which is why they love going shopping and buying up all the new jeans, shoes, dresses and accessories that have been released.
The weather can affect your mood very easily. In the UK, people tend to be a lot happier when the sun is shining (because we don’t see it very often) and they can enjoy the outdoors without worrying about whether it’s going to start raining. When the weather is cold, raining and windy, people tend to hibernate in their homes and only go outside when they have to.
The weather controls how we dress which is great for shops on the high street because they know when people are due to buy clothes and they can adjust their prices and hold sales to sell more of their products.
During the summer of 2012, we were supposed to be going through a recession which meant people were using their money to pay bills instead of buying clothes but as soon as the sun came out and stuck around for awhile, people hit the shops and bought as much as they could, meaning sales increased.
You don’t realise it but the weather also helps with fashion stores online presence. By typing ‘summer dresses’ into Google you’re helping ASOS, boohoo, New Look and many others with their online campaign. It’s the same when you’re searching for winter clothing. Having a good online presence has become very important to the growth of many companies and it all depends on you and what you search for.
